King’s Navy Yard Park was named Best Park or Garden in Windsor-Essex last year, a category it has won for multiple years running. It is nominated in that category again this year as well as in the Favourite Photo Op category for the County of Essex.
River Lights Winter Festival, which shone brightly amid a dark pandemic winter last year while other light shows shut down, took home Best Adapted Event in 2021 and is nominated this year in the best Holiday Event category.
As might be expected, Amherstburg dominates the Best Historical Attraction category, occupying three of the five spots with the Amherstburg Freedom Museum, Fort Malden National Historic Site and Park House Museum.
The Amherstburg Farmers Market was nominated in the Best Farmers Market category and G.L. Heritage Brewery was nominated for Best Brewery Experience again this year.
Just down Howard Avenue, Wolfhead Distillery was again nominated in the Art of the Cocktail category and Fox Glen was nominated in the golf course category.
It was nice to see some new Amherstburg businesses nominated this year including The Panetteria in the Bakery and Baked Goods category and Pepper Cat in the Date Night Spot category.
