Amherstburg has unveiled two new potential logos for public input after one proposed logo received a lukewarm response.
What do you think? Do you have a favourite?
Let me know via the survey at the bottom of this page.
You can also tell the town what you think on Talk The Burg!
There will be a public meeting from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Libro Centre on Saturday, February 9th.
While there certainly wasn't a consensus and some people thought it was "gorgeous," councillors and many residents felt the first logo presented was "busy" and said they didn't understand what each icon represented.
And if we don't get it, they reasoned, how are potential tourists going to know what the icons mean? (Logo 1 below is a more simplified version of that initial logo.)
The tagline 'Born to be historic' proved considerably more popular than the logo but I'm not convinced we can't do better.
If you have any ideas, let me know!
I'm partial to "History's Happening" or "History's Happening Here" or maybe more of a call to action like "Make History" or "Be Historic." The tagline is meant to attract tourists to our town.
Amherstburg resident Chris Uszynski, who does some remarkable branding for Running Flat, suggested "Where it all began" in an off-the-cuff Facebook post.
What about the more mysterious "Where it all begins?" I know some people have been asking what's wrong with "You'll love it here."
Below are pictures of all three potential logos, designed by Cinnamon Toast New Media as part of a $76,000 rebranding contract that includes the design of a new tourism-focused website.
Let me know what you think! Thanks and Go Aburg!
