King’s Navy Yard Park has once again been named the Best Park or Garden in the Best of Windsor-Essex awards presented by Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island.

I was very happy to support Open Air Weekends, which opens up downtown streets to peoples and patios to help local businesses respond to the challenges of COVID-19. Here's how I voted on June 8, 2020:

Amherstburg will open streets to people and patios on summer weekends to help downtown businesses and build a buzz that will draw customers and their disposable incomes from our neighbouring municipalities and beyond.

I was happy to support securing lease agreements with multiple community organizations to fill out the St. Bernard Community Hub and to send a letter in support of local newspapers to the federal government. Here's how I voted on May 25th, 2020:

It’s a touch stifling and it causes my glasses to fog up and my ears to stick out, but I’ve started wearing a simple cloth mask when I go shopping or grab takeout from Amherstburg restaurants.

A bench honouring Windsor and Essex County nurses, who have been standing strong on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19, will be placed outside the former St. Bernard School in Amherstburg, site of a new nurse practitioner’s clinic.

The House Youth Centre, which has provided a safe space for Amherstburg kids for nearly fifty years, is appealing for community donations and hopeful for a new location after its funding was cut by the United Way.
