Amherstburg residents will soon be able to take a bus from Amherstburg into west Windsor and points beyond for work, school or other appointments now that Council has approved a two-year pilot project with Transit Windsor.

A proposed four-storey residential development with 75 rental suites in downtown Amherstburg was showcased at a public meeting at the Libro Centre earlier this week.

Nearly 200 trees will be planted by residents across Amherstburg in celebration of Earth Day as part of a public-private partnership to boost the Town’s tree canopy while engaging youth, who will map and monitor the growth of the saplings as the years progress.

Back in the early days of the pandemic, when everything was closed and everyone stuck at home, I’d sling my guitar over my shoulder a few nights each week, set up my mic and amp on my front porch and serenade my neighbours with cowboy chords and campfire classics.
