The Town of Amherstburg is holding a virtual public information session Monday night in advance of a 2022 ballot question on a ward system.

I was happy to support a rain barrel program that will save homeowners money while benefitting the environment. Here's how I voted on January 10, 2022:

Paved shoulders and a multi-use pathway on Middle Side Road, a bike lane on Sandwich from Alma to Pickering, a paved shoulder on Concession Road 2 North from Middle Side Road to River Canard and an active transportation corridor stretching all the way back along County Road 20 to Alma are among the 72.7 km of CWATS routes proposed for Amherstburg.

An 8-room boutique hotel is coming to downtown Amherstburg as part of a transformational redevelopment project on the northwest corner of Ramsay and Murray Streets.

I was happy to support in principle the construction of an Italian monument in King's Navy Yard Park and support the Libro Centre as the permanent home for a new and improved skate park. Here's how I voted on December 13, 2021:

A monument in King’s Navy Yard Park that would celebrate Canada's immigration story and Amherstburg's rich Italian heritage has received approval in principle from Council so fundraising for the ambitious $800,000 project can proceed in earnest.

Amherstburg residents are being asked for their input on a proposed 2022 Operating Budget that maintains service levels while planning for the future, incorporating a new organizational structure and embracing initiatives like body cameras for By-Law officers and transportation and climate change adaptation plans.

A new organizational structure for the Town of Amherstburg that aims to improve service delivery and “optimize” staff resources with zero net impact on the annual Budget was presented to Council Monday night by Interim CAO Tony Haddad.
