I was happy to support the awarding of Heritage Plaques to a dozen historic properties in Amherstburg. Here's how I voted on Nov. 9, 2020.
DELEGATIONS
5.1 Request to Relieve Tax Interest & Penalties Charged During Dispute with MPAC - Dennis & Kimberly Horn
Received the delegation.
5.2 Easement Documentation and By-law 2020-059 - Nicole Keogh and Mary Caton, Amherst Point Association
Directed Administration to prepare a report to determine costs and impacts for all Town encroachments and that the report be brought back to Council for consideration.
REPORTS – CORPORATE SERVICES
6.1 2020 Third Quarter Variance as at September 30, 2020
Approved a transfer from the Streetlights Reserve not to exceed $3,031 to fund the unbudgeted purchase of a new streetlight under the Public Works budget centre, capital expense; a transfer from the Fleet and Equipment Reserve not to exceed $131,143 to fund the unbudgeted purchase of a Tandem
Truck Chassis (Unit 206) with snow plow, under the Public Works budget centre, capital expense; affirmed an unbudgeted expenditure in relation to updating the Town’s Water Master Plan, estimated at $40,000 to be funded by water user rates under the Water budget centre, professional fees expense; affirmed the unbudgeted purchase of a replacement Generator for the Wastewater Plant in the amount of $81,450 to be funded by wastewater user rates under the Wastewater budget centre, capital expense; affirmed an over-expenditure of $9,588 for the purchase of Auto Extrication Equipment to be funded from current taxation under the Fire budget centre, capital expense; established a Reserve Fund – Ranta Memorial Park for the purpose of funding improvements to Ranta Memorial Park and that the funds bequeathed to the Town for that purpose be transferred to that Reserve Fund; and established a reserve – Co-An Park Capital for the purpose of funding Town contributions to Co-An Park capital improvements and that current funds not to exceed $4,946 be transferred to that reserve.
REPORTS - PARKS, FACILITIES, RECREATION AND CULTURE
7.1 Safe Re-Opening of Spectator Seating at the Libro Centre
Voted in favour of opening the spectator seating at the Libro Centre similar to other municipalities but the motion was lost.
7.2 Parks Mowers Purchased
Affirmed the purchase of one Demo Toro Model 31699 Groundsmaster 5910 16' Mower and one new Toro Model 30695 Groundsmaster 7210 100" Mower from Turf Care in the amount of $172,935 including net HST. Approved an over-expenditure of $1,935 for the purchase of the mowers.
REPORTS - PLANNING, DEVELOPMENT AND LEGISLATIVE SERVICES
9.1 Road Dedication of Reserves in Kingsbridge Subdivision as Public Highway
The dedication of Parts 1 and 3 on 12R-28318 and Part 1 on 12R-28183 (westerly extension of Lundy Street, easterly extension of Mclellan Avenue and widening of Mclellan Avenue) as a Public Highway BE
APPROVED; and,
2. By-law 2020-057 being a by-law to dedicate Parts 1 and 3 on 12R-28318 and Part 1 on 12R-28183 as a Public Highway be taken as having been read three times and finally passed and the Mayor and Clerk BE
AUTHORIZED to sign same.
9.2 Suitability for Development on Private Septic System on two Severed Lots on Front Rd N
That the development of the two lots on Front Road North (severed off 2125 Front Road North and 2268 Front Road North) on private septic systems, as outlined in the October 23, 2020 report from the Manager of Planning Services, BE APPROVED.

10.1 2021 Calendar of Council Meetings
The rules in the Procedural By-law requiring that regular meetings be held the second and fourth Monday of each month BE WAIVED for the months of July, August, and December; and,
2. The 2021 Calendar of Council Meetings BE APPROVED, as amended.
10.2 Adoption of the Mandatory Face Covering During a Pandemic Policy
That the Mandatory Face Covering During a Pandemic Policy BE ADOPTED as a policy in accordance with the report dated October 28, 2020, Adoption of the Mandatory Face Covering During a Pandemic Policy.
10.3 Adoption of the Municipal Digital Signage Policy
That the Municipal Digital Signage Policy BE ADOPTED in accordance with the report entitled Adoption of the Municipal Digital Signage Policy dated October 28, 2020.
10.4 Council Revisions to the Code of Conduct- Council, Committees and Local Boards
