Amherstburg residents are invited to enter “creative and catchy” names for the Town’s snow plows in an online contest.
Residents have from now until December 13 at noon to submit their picks on Talk The Burg.
All submissions will be reviewed by staff and the top 10 will be selected for public voting, which runs from December 14 to December 20th.
The top four names will be chosen and displayed on Town snow plows come January. Winners will “receive an exclusive prize as a token of their community spirit,” according to a Town press release.
I’ve seen some fantastic monikers created in other jurisdictions, including Anita Shovel, Darth Blader, Buzz Ice-Clear, Better Call Salt, Sleetwood Mac and Scoop Dogg, and have no doubt a blizzard of similarly creative entries will blow in from Amherstburg residents.
The contest is for Amherstburg residents only. Each person may only submit one name and submissions are limited to 30 characters (including letters and spaces.)
