Council directed Administration Monday night to undertake public consultation on public transportation needs in relation to a proposal received from Transit Windsor.
Council also directed Administration to develop and bring back, subsequent to public consultation, a business plan, inclusive of grant funding opportunities, for the delivery of public transit services for the Town of Amherstburg through Transit Windsor.
The need for public transit definitely came up knocking doors during the campaign and the Town earmarked $75,000 in the 2020 Budget for a Transportation Feasibility Study.
Transit Windsor already runs routes to Essex, Kingsville, Leamington and LaSalle.
