Rotary Club Of Amherstburg Spruces Up Anderdon Basketball Court

Basketball fans can now play hoops in Anderdon on an improved court with new nets and backboards along with freshly-painted lines thanks to a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Amherstburg.

Rotary donated $7,500 to improve the court on Middle Side Road near the fire hall and Anderdon Public School. Before the improvements, there was only one net so it was impossible for kids and adults to play a full-court game.

I drive by that facility all the time back and forth to events downtown and it is well used by both kids and adults alike, as are the adjacent tennis courts.A basketball with writing thanking the Rotary Club of Amherstburg!

Susanne Bergeron, Rotary President, said Rotary was happy to support recreational amenities outside of the downtown core and that the promotion of health and fitness for youth and adults fit well with Rotary’s priorities. She expressed hope the refurbished court would be used by students at Anderdon in addition to the broader community.

“It’s a nice place to exercise and have a good time and we’re happy we can put a smile on people’s faces,” said Bergeron.
